The Mythology of Nightmares
Investigating AI-generated art through experimental storytelling, interaction design, and digital world-building
In 2023, AI art had swept through the internet like wildfire, sparking public debate about creative integrity, copyright, and the definition of art itself. Some argued that AI-generated art had no place in the creative world, while others asked, what if creatives suddenly had more powerful tools than ever before?
Before AI art, producing a cohesive body of high-quality illustrations was both expensive and time-consuming. That tension made me curious, how far could these tools go in empowering design, storytelling, and digital experiences? This website was designed and built to explore that question, while also serving as a creative playground for motion and interaction on the web. All imagery on the site was generated using Midjourney, with Photoshop supporting final color alignment. Conceptually, the mythology of nightmares serves as a personal interest and provided a rich sandbox for the research, imagery, and narrative of the site.
